The Board of Investment (BOI) of Mauritius won the United Nations Awards for Promoting Investment in Sustainable Development Goals at a reception organised by the Investment Commission of the United Nations in Geneva, Switzerland, on 20th November 2017.
This year, the Awards recognize the exceptional achievements of inward and outward investment promotion agencies in promoting investment that advances SDGs.
The SDGs were adopted at the United Nations Summit for Sustainable Development in 2015 and are the international community’s most ambitious action plan to promote sustainable growth at a global level.
Participants comprising Investment Promotion Agencies (IPAs), IPA associations, and Outward Investment Agencies (OIAs), were invited to submit their entry projects. The BOI presented the Medine Group’s Uniciti Project (Medine Smart city), which is a private mixed-use smart city project extending over an area of 823 acres of land.
