On 6th November 2018, the HYBSE – a revolutionary blockchain exchange platform – was launched by a Mauritius –based joint venture between MINDEX Holdings Limited (MINDEX), GMEX Group Limited (GMEX) and Hybrid Stock Exchange Corporation Limited (HYBSE).

MINDEX is a complete exchange, post trade and physical infrastructure that will facilitate a variety of asset classes to be traded in Mauritius. It will be supported by GMEX is a world leader in digital business and technology solutions for exchange and post-trade operators. Both will partner with HYBSE, which is a global online marketplace based on blockchain technology that is part of the DIM-Ecosystem.

The venture selected Mauritius for the setting up of the HYBSE International Marketplace following a recent announcement by the Financial Services Commission (FSC) that it will create new licensable activities for the Custodian of Digital Assets and Digital Asset Marketplace and provide a regulated environment for the exchange and safe custody of digital assets. The FSC has also issued guidelines on investment in cryptocurrency as a digital asset.

By integrating blockchain solutions and technology with traditional financial industries, the HYBSE International Marketplace aims to provide a complete and governed ecosystem that digitalizes assets onto the Blockchain. It will enable institutional investors to access cryptocurrency ETF’s and other crypto-instruments for the first time.

Asset classes that will be facilitated for trade in a digital tokenized format include:

  • Cryptonized Shares
  • Cryptonized Currencies
  • Commodities
  • Indices
  • Forex
  • ETC’s (Exchange-Traded Commodities)
  • ETF’s (Exchange-Traded Funds)
  • CETF’s (Crypto Exchange Traded Funds)

The HYBSE International Marketplace will offer SMEs the possibility to raise capital by launching an Initial Blockshare Offering (IBO), a time limited offer to purchase cryptonised-equities and other cryptinised-instruments from businesses that are registered on the HYBSE International Marketplace, at special discounted rates. The unbanked (estimated at over 1.7 billion worldwide), will thus have the opportunity to participate in the listing and trading of stocks.
