Visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Mauritius

The President of the People’s Republic of China, Mr Xi Jinping, paid a Friendship Visit to Mauritius from 27th-28th July 2018. President Xi was accompanied by his spouse and a delegation of 11 members.
During his visit, President Xi had a tête-à-tête and working session with the Mauritian Prime Minister, Mr Pravind Jugnauth. The two sides had in-depth exchanges on further developing Mauritius-China relations and cooperation and also discussed international and regional issues of common concern.
President Xi’s visit to Mauritius was the first visit by a Chinese Head of State in nine years and was the last stopover to a five-country nation tour which included the United Arab Emirates, the Republic of Senegal, the Republic of Rwanda and the Republic of South Africa.
